Your work will probably still get done without it. But you’re so much better off with it.

File Storage in Paprika.

We first realized the value of file attachments when we added them to Jumpchart, then integrated them into Staction, and by that time we couldn’t help but carry them over to Paprika. It seemed like a perfect fit, after all. The ability to attach images and files to our notes is invaluable, and really helps speed things up. Now… and later.

For example, when using Paprika to organize a client project, we might do something like this:

Slipping in the document from the client right next to the todo helps keep everything streamlined and in one place. You don’t even have to look at the bottom of the project to see a group of attachments, then try to figure out which one goes with which todo. It’s all black and white.

It’s like combining three steps into one- you don’t have to worry about keeping track of any number of files you deal with on a daily basis. Find it once, and be done. Then, when you share your project with your teammates (or whomever!) via e-mail or Staction, you don’t have to attach that same document… ‘cause it’s already there.

Those steps might not seem like they’d take up a lot of time… but in a world where productivity rules, every second counts.

You’ve always been able to attach files to a page. You’ve always been able to leave comments on a page. Nothing’s changed there.

We’ve discovered that when people use Jumpchart, they want to go into a little more detail with the comments they make, or a file they upload. Being able to trace files back to their creator/uploader can help cut down on confusion later in the project.

We decided we could help out.

Now you can attach files to your comments. With this new feature, you can connect your name to a file you’ve uploaded to a certain page so everyone knows who added it and where it came from. Or you can use a chart, graph or other image to help get your point across.

We think this new feature will make your Jumpchart experience a little more productive- we hope you like it!

Now you can create Snippets for use account-wide, improving your workflow by allowing you to access constant bits of information across multiple projects.

In a nutshell:

When you share a project containing a Regular Snippet, the Snippet is then available to view, use and edit by whomever you share the project with.

When you share a project containing a Global Snippet, the Snippet is then available to view and use by whomever you share the project with- but not editable by that person. It is only editable by you… and it’s available for you to use across each of your projects.

You cannot see someone else’s Snippets unless they share their project with you.

For more info on how they work, check out the new support article we’ve added.

It makes laying out the structure for a website flexible- not to mention it’s client friendly.

We’ve made a few tweaks, and implemented our recent lucid revelation.

You can now:

Expand and collapse sub-sections, which becomes really crucial and productive when dealing with larger projects.

Use the new visual dots to the left of the nav to more easily denote hierarchal level. Also extremely helpful for larger, more complex projects.

Use the modal approach to reorder. Instead of having the always-present reorder handle, you now click on the “Reordering” button, work your magic, and hit save. This is nice because now there’s the the option to go back in the event of a (gasp) mistake. If you’re continually playing with the structure of a site, then wishing you could “undo” the last three moves… it gets tough to remember exact previous placement. No more worries- now you don’t have to.
For more detailed information, check out this article.

The first step towards that goal was the Staction API. The second step was built from the first, and we’re very happy to announce it today: The Staction AIR app.
