Paul, It’s a good idea, – and you’re right, – it is more precise… pleasenotify.me was an experiment in how light weight of an app we could make, – and we opted for the simplest, – which was a drop-down… We may decide to expand it further in the future. Thanks for giving it a shot, and letting us know what you think of it.

I like the simplicity of the form, but I have one suggestion. Instead of using a drop-down menu to choose the due date, what about an input box that pop-ups an interactive calendar using Ajax (similar to what you see on priceline.com, or other trip booking websites)?

Either way, very cool app.

I never wrote comments on the web, but your little program is wonderful. I work in China and I need to push people every day to make things and they are always in late. This program is the one I need. Just must be improved (I know that you will make it) and i would like to give you my idea.
Will be good if could be possible to write the OBJECT in the notify and also if could be possible to decide the recurrence (not only every day). And maybe to take the address from the address book because if you want to send to many people, it is a long way.

AZMike, and Jacob, Thanks for the cool ideas for PN. That app started out as a short term experimental project, and has really gained a lot of momentum. While we’re currently mostly focused on improving Staction, and Jumpchart, we have some long term plans for PN, and similar apps as well. Keep the ideas coming! it would be nice if I could link an email and have an address that I cound send to do from.

I request an email at pleasenotify.me (jacob@pleasenotifyme.me)

anyone who emails me at this address would include a date or day in the subject line. 10-24-08, today, tomorrow, next week, wed, wendsday, ex.

The program would understand most date/day/time formats like google cal does

I like it already also, I pray you let me keep it.

I don’t get out much, but is it possible to have a version where instead of daily “nags” you can do a date specific reminder? Just a thought.

Is it okay to share it?

Eric, It’s quite possible that we’re going to have to go to more extreme lengths to keep this tool from being used for spam. Right now it’s not happening, but we have it set up so that it will be pretty easy to spot, and stop if it is. It’s not a secure form, but your email address is safe with us. We’re not using them for anything other than the service. I know we’re all trained to be skeptical over free things, – but we really did just build this because we thought it was a cool idea, and it might build some interest around our other apps. Give it a shot, and see what you think.- Joe
